WASHINGTON – Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., announced Friday the opening of new offices in Bend and Washington, D.C. to better serve the residents of Oregon’s Second Congressional District.

Walden, who recently completed his 225th round-trip commute between Oregon and Washington, said he is looking forward to the additional benefits both offices will provide Oregonians. The moves come as Walden prepares for his fourth term in the House after being re-elected this November with 72 percent of the vote.

Walden’s increased seniority in the House afforded him the opportunity to select a larger office on a better-situated floor in the Longworth House Office Building in Washington, the same building where his prior office was located. Both the congressman and his staff will have increased area in which to meet with Oregonians in town to share their thoughts on a specific issue or just visiting the nation’s capital.

Walden’s Bend District Office has moved into a new location, directly across the hall from his prior suite in the Jamison Building on Hawthorne Avenue in the downtown area.

In order to better serve one of the fastest-growing areas in Oregon, Walden wanted to improve the space and options for constituents visiting the office.

This new space will ensure increased privacy for those requesting Walden’s assistance in dealing with various federal agencies on their behalf while keeping the centrally located address with plenty of free parking for visitors.

Walden’s Medford office will remain in the same location, as it provides sound space and privacy for visitors, as well as free and ample parking for residents.

“I’m very honored that increased seniority has given me the chance to improve our office in Washington, D.C. as well as to find better space for our Bend office,” said Walden. “These offices are for the benefit of Oregon’s Second Congressional District residents.”

“I hope folks choose to call or visit me when I can be of assistance as they deal with various federal agencies, become interested in federal legislation or plan a trip to our nation’s capital,” continued Walden. “I get my `to-do list’ from Oregonians across central, southern and eastern Oregon, and rely on their input and suggestions to best accomplish my job.”
