Based on the investigation, it was learned that the Silver Pontiac Grand Prix being driven by William Paul Smith, 60, had stopped at the stop sign southbound on 7th Street and then pulled into the path of the westbound Green Mazda 626 being driven by Yvonne Theresa Marquez, 46.
Marquez was not injured and was later checked out at St. Charles Hospital after being driven by family. Smith was extricated from his vehicle by Bend Fire and was transported to St. Charles for his injuries which did not appear to be life threatening.
