A suspect in a Saturday night stabbing in northwest Bend was arrested a short time later, hiding in the bathroom of a friend’s fourplex, police said Sunday.
Around 9 p.m., police responded to the Hill Street Market on a reported stabbing. Officers contacted Jeffrey Debrockert, 40, of Bend, who had a minor stab wound to his left upper arm, said Lt. Gary Mack.
Debrockert told officers he and a friend, Mark Elwin Rose, 45, had been drinking together at Debrockert’s residence and got into a dispute, during which Rose allegedly stabbed him with a small knife.
Rose fled the scene and was located at the friend’s residence, where he was taken into custody without incident, Mack said.
Bend fire paramedics took Debrockert to St. Charles Medical Center, where he was treated for the minor stab wound and released.
Rose was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on charges of second-degree assault, menacing, harassment and unlawful use of a weapon, with bail totaling $58,500.
