Soroptimists of Redmond, BestCare Treatment Services, and the Meth Action Coalition are sponsoring a free community forum “Meth: The Challenge Facing Our Community” on Thursday, March 9th at Redmond Senior Center, 325 NW Dogwood Ave. Redmond, from 6:30-9 p.m.
The evening will feature a 15 minute screening of the independent film “Downfall”, produced by local filmmaker Duke White.
“Downfall” portrays a man’s methamphetamine addiction and its devastating impact on his life. Afterward Dr. Woody Peeples, a local emergency room doctor, will give an educational presentation regarding meth. Last, a panel of experts representing the fields of medicine, law enforcement, mental health/addictions, social work, and the community will give an overview of the challenges facing our community as well as be available to answer questions.
