Bend Theatre for Young People to Present Jingle Bells Jury December 13 and 14
Bend Theatre for Young People will present the fanciful holiday play Jingle Bells Jury on Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14. The play will be performed by BTYP’s second through fifth grade Junior Play Production students. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, and 2 p.m. Saturday. Both performances will be held at BTYP’s performance space in Bend River Mall. Tickets are $1 for children, $3 for adults.
Jingle Bells Jury, by Jay Moriarty, features the trial of young Jim Dandy, who has called Christmas spirit “A lot of nonsense.” Facing a Christmas court of justice, Jim intends to defend himself. He has his task cut out for him as a colorful parade of Christmas personalities try to prove him wrong, including reindeer-in-training, an angel from atop a Christmas tree, wise men and holiday shoppers.
Bend Theatre for Young People was established in 1996 to enrich the lives of central Oregon’s youth by educating them in the art and craft of theatre. BTYP is proud to be known for bringing the best of theatre education and production to young people from eight to eighteen years old.
Regular BTYP programs include classes after school and a four-week Conservatory program every summer. For more information about the programs, upcoming classes or BTYP, call 419-1395 or visit BTYP’s website, http://www.bendtheatre.org .
